I would highly recommend reaching out to Camilo with Laulima Solar for any solar water heater issues. We contacted several solar companies and plumbers when having difficulty with our water heater- most were very difficult to get clear pricing or some did not seem to have expertise in solar (although they advertised as knowledgeable in solar heater issues). Camilo was immediately extremely easy to communicate with, honest and fair in pricing, and took his own personal time to help us troubleshoot some fixes (without any charge). Camilo said he wouldn’t want to charge for a visit if there was a solution we could do ourselves relatively easily and he texted some different things to try. I don’t think there’s a better solar heater repair company out there - in my experience Camilo was incredibly kind, patient, and honest and I wouldn’t waste my time with any other companies.

I had a fantastic experience with Camilo for a solar water heater replacement. After receiving several quotes from other companies, Camilo’s approach was a breath of fresh air. He was punctual, professional, and incredibly transparent. What stood out most was his integrity—he actually pointed out parts I didn't need to replace to save me money, whereas other companies tried to pad their estimates. He worked diligently without breaks and the final result is top-notch. He even took the time to explain the maintenance required to keep the system running efficiently. If you’re looking for someone who truly cares about their customers and knows the solar industry inside and out, Camilo is your guy. Camilo recently did the annual solar hot water system maintenance at our house in Makawao. We had let it go for a few years so it was beyond due. He flushed the system, checked if anode rod needed replacement, replaced insulation as needed as well as pressure valves and more. He did a great job and was always professional, personable, thorough and responsive to our communications - a true joy to interact with. From the moment I requested a quote to install solar on our townhouse, Laulima has been PHENOMENAL to work with.  I considered other "brand" name companies on Maui, but Laulima stands head and shoulders above everyone else.  Their price was not the lowest, but it also was not the highest, and the personalized service we received from minute one was worth every extra penny...you definitely get what you pay for!  Andres is so knowledgeable about the equipment and installation--no question was too hard for him (and I ask a lot of questions!).  He was so patient and easy to work with.  Other companies are notorious for dropping you after installation and referring you to the vendor (Tesla, etc.) for any issues after installation, but not Laulima.  Andres called me a month after installation just to check to see how everything was going, took down questions I had to contact the vendor for me.  No service provider has EVER called me to follow up after a job is done.
